Since 2004, the Vermont Jump$tart Coalition has promoted financial literacy in Vermont’s schools, providing tools and support to teachers and parents so that they can equip our children and young adults with the knowledge and skills to manage their money responsibly.

We have developed and participated in a number of activities to further that goal, including the following activities:

  • Promote the cause of financial literacy during April, national financial literacy month
  • Recognize leaders who have been instrumental in the cause of financial literacy in Vermont
  • Help teachers and parents find free and low-cost financial literacy resources
  • Connect teachers with financial literacy subject matter experts for classroom presentations
  • Sponsor and host financial literacy conferences
  • Teach workshops for children, young adults, parents, and teachers
  • Provide scholarships for teachers to attend financial literacy training and conferences
  • Support governmental agencies and other nonprofit organizations in their efforts to promote financial literacy in Vermont
